Natural oils
Plant-oil formulas, on a closer schedule
Some households want a different kind of product around the yard. Plant-oil formulas are an option. They break down faster, so we visit about every three weeks instead of every four.
Where it fits
Yards where a household prefers plant-oil products
Yards with a vegetable bed or a chicken run
Anyone willing to trade a few more visits for a different product

What we do
Four steps, every visit
- 01
Step 1: Walk the yard
We map the wet spots, the shade and the garden beds.
- 02
Step 2: Choose the formula
We explain what's in it, and we follow the label, as with any product.
- 03
Step 3: Treat on a closer interval
About every three weeks from April to October, nine visits in all.
- 04
Step 4: Compare in the fall
We write down what the season looked like, so you can choose again in April.
Before and after
What you do, and what we do
Before
Tell us about the vegetable beds and any herbs you'd like left alone.
After
Keep kids and pets off the treated areas until our note says they're dry.
In July and August
Expect the visits to be the closest together. The heat wears the oils off fastest.
Questions about this service
Why do natural oils cost more over a season?
Plant-oil formulas break down faster than a barrier spray, so the visits come about every three weeks instead of every four. That's more visits in the season, not a higher price for each one.
Will I have no mosquitoes?
No treatment does that. A good one cuts the number a lot, most of the time, for a few weeks at a stretch. Rain, heat and a neighbor's pond all change it. If they're back sooner than they should be, call or text and we come back to re-treat the same areas.
What about kids and pets?
Our applicators follow the product label on every visit. We tell you which parts of the yard to keep kids and pets off, and for how long, and we text you when it has dried. Ask us for the product list and we'll send it.
Ask about natural oils
We'll walk the yard and write down the visits and the price before we start.
